What do you want to do with your life?
It’s a tough question, but it’s a question you should know the answer to. Forget all that sympathetic BS out there that gives you permission to not know what you want.
KNOW! And know it now!.jpg)
..but wait…there’s a catch:
Just because you know what you want doesn’t mean it can’t change. It doesn’t mean some higher power will force you to work toward that one objective for the rest of your life.
The value in knowing what you want – even if you get it wrong on the first try – is action. Having something to work toward means you’ll act in the interest of achieving it, and that’s better than nothing.
New ideas, new people and new experiences are going to cross your path as you work toward your interim life goal, and that’s what will ultimately shape your true answer to the question, “What do you want to do with your life?”
So, go ahead – pick something you want. Sitting here at your computer, without thinking, just pick it. No, not “I want a Twinkie,” or, “I want to have sex with _____,” but a career goal or a life goal. Don’t make it an easy one either. It’ll probably change, so go crazy with it. Now, until you have more time to spend thinking about what you really want, you can say that you know what you want to do with your life.
